Impressions from the 2nd Congress of the European Acadamy of Neurology (EAN)


The 2nd Congress of the European Academy of Neurology (EAN) took place in Copenhagen Bella Center from May 28 - 31, 2016.

Our Society was successfully involved in this Congress. Natan Bornstein and Laszlo Csiba were the chairpersons of the hands-on course about “Neurosonology” and have been supported by Stephan Schreiber and Edoardo Vicenzini. The lectures about different aspects of methods, evaluation and assessment of neurosonology where followed by hands-on demonstrations. Approximately 60 participants joint this important course.

David Russell was chairing an important workshop about “Frontier applications in Neurosonology” were the advantages of neurosonology as an efficient tool of therapy in the cerebrovascular and other neurological diseases were discussed.

Natan Bornstein was the chairperson of the teaching course about “Life after stroke” that focused on specific issues in the female patients like pregnancy and future administration of oral contraceptives and also hormone replacement. Also the often underestimated cognitive and higher cortical disorders, their assessment, screening and treatment was taken into account.

The newly established ESNCH booth was well frequented and throughout the Congress we were able to distribute more than 800 flyers.
